Five Writing Themed Bags

If there was one thing other than books that I love, its bags. It’s more of an obsession really. One of the things I struggle with (despite the fact that my laptop is quite small and thin,) is finding a bag that’s big enough to carry everything I need (I do tend to carry the kitchen sink too.) I’ve hunted through the internet and picked out some writer themed bags that I thought were great and most importantly, practical for all the writing stuff you may need to carry around. Which one is your favourite?

Malory towers bag

Last Term at Malory Towers Bag – £44.00

Mini Book Handbag by the Literary Gift Company.

Love this, love this, love this. It’s from their books turned into handbags range and I love them. This one is the cover of Last Term at Malory Towers by Enid Blyton. I remember reading this as a child and loving these stories. This is a little different to your normal bag but a great idea (and big enough for a notebook.) They have other covers in the range and prices are between £28 and £60.

This design is instantly recognisable (to me anyway.) This particular bag is one of Penguin’s iconic orange covers and features The Great Gatsby. I love it. It’s available for £12.95.

Go Away I’m Writing Bag

Go Away, I’m Writing Tote from CafePress.

This canvas tote bag is currently £9.50 from Cafepress. It’s machine washable and big enough to carry the laptop. It would make a good gift for the writer in your life or a treat for yourself. I have one similar to this and its great.

I Write Messenger Bag

I Write Messenger Bag from Etsy.

Currently £17.61, this bag is handmade cotton canvas and is made to order. It’s perfect for the notebook, laptop and iPad. I like the brass turn buckles on the front and the nice, wide strap too. I have to confess, I do like cross body bags. I find them the easiest bag to carry around so this would be on my wish list.

Another one from CafePress, this is the urban writer messenger bag. It’s currently £22.50. This is a lovely bag with an adjustable strap and writer written on the front. Again, it’s cross body. It’s nice and simple. It has a magnetic snap and also has exterior and interior pockets too.

I’m Laura. I started Novel Kicks in 2009. I wanted a place to post my writing as well as give other writers like me the opportunity to do the same. There is also a monthly book club, a writing room which features writing prompts, book reviews, competitions, author interviews and guest posts.

I grew up by the sea (my favourite place in the world) and I currently live in Hampshire. I am married to Chris, have a cat named Buddy and I would love to be a writer. I’m trying to write the novel I’ve talked so much about writing if only I could stop pressing delete. I’ve loved writing since creative writing classes in primary school. I have always wanted to see my teacher Miss Sayers again and thank her for the encouragement. When not trying to write the novel or writing snippets of stories on anything I can get my hands on, I love reading, dancing like a loon and singing to myself very badly. My current obsession is Once Upon a Time and I would be happy to live with magic in the enchanted forest surrounded by all those wonderful stories provided that world also included Harry Potter. I love reading chick lit. contemporary fiction and novels with mystery.
