Novel Kicks Writing Room: Scheduling Your Character’s Day

Welcome back to the Novel Kicks Writing Room.

I have what I hope is a fun exercise today.

Take the three main characters from your WIP and fill out their schedule. For example, the character I have chosen is a police officer –

07.00 – Wake up.

07.10 – Morning Run.

0.8.00 – Shower and dress,

9.00 – Morning briefing.

10.00 – Interview Mr Green.

11.00 – Meeting with DCI Morgan.

12.00 –

13.00 – Press conference.

14.00 –

15.00 – Pick up Arianna from ballet.

16.00 – Lisa due at the station.

17.00 – Parent/Teacher evening – Ella.

18.00 –

19.00 – Morrisons car park – meeting Q. Possible lead.

20.00 –

21.00 –

22.00 –

23.00 –

00.00. –

Using your own characters, fill in their day from the moment they wake up to midnight. Do they skip breakfast? How long is their shower? Do they have lunch or dinner plans? How does it relate to the story?

I have always loved creative writing since I was in first school and would very much like to meet my teacher, Miss Sayers, to say thank you for all the encouragement she gave me then.
When not writing, I love reading, cats, Disney, singing (I can't sing but this doesn't stop me,) and falling into a good TV show or film. If I could step into any fictional world, it would be amongst the characters in ABC's Once Upon a Time.
I love reading many genres and discovering new authors.
