Book News: Series Three of Sky Arts Book Club

Series Three of Sky Arts Book Club to start on 7th September 2022.

If you’ve been following this blog for a while, you know I love a good book discussion and what better way to do that than a book club.

Following the Summer Reads Special in July, the third series of Sky Art Book Club returns tomorrow (7th September 2022.) It’s a four episode series and will run throughout September.

Presented by Elizabeth Day, Andi Oliver and literary podcaster and YouTuber, Simon Savidge, the series will feature different themes and guests each episode.

Andi Oliver is pleased to be back. She says,

“I am so thrilled to be back with my fantastic cohorts the brilliant and inspiring Elizabeth Day and the countries best read human Simon Savidge. I take such pure joy in this unadulterated celebration and exploration of books. This season is joyful, thought provoking and completely compelling and I can’t wait to share it with everyone’.

Elizabeth Day is also looking forward to the new series.

“It’s such a thrill to be back with the wonderful Andi Oliver and our resident book guru, Simon Savidge, for a whole new season of what I can entirely objectively say is one of the best books programmes around. This series, we talk to a dazzling and diverse range of authors, including big names and stellar talents, and our book clubs have not pulled their punches in asking each of our writers perceptive (and occasionally challenging) questions!

Each episode, the team will be discussing books, and not only that, they will be joined each week by a different book club to ask the authors questions.

Speaking of guests and authors, Reverend Richard Coles will be joining Elizabeth, Andi and Simon on the first episode to talk about his first novel, ‘Murder before Evensong’ and they will be delving into Jeanette Winterson’s ’12 Bytes.’

With book discussions, guests and recommendations, the third series of Sky Arts Book Club promises to be a great place for book lovers.

Simon Savidge added,

‘What I love about Book Club is that everyone can have such differing opinions on books and you never know where the conversation might lead. And if that wasn’t enough the discussion carries on over on the new FaceBook group where there’s exclusive content with me including extra interviews with authors from the show, as well as some additional prize winner authors, readalongs, vlogs and much more.’

I’m Laura. I started Novel Kicks in 2009. I wanted a place to post my writing as well as give other writers like me the opportunity to do the same. There is also a monthly book club, a writing room which features writing prompts, book reviews, competitions, author interviews and guest posts.

I grew up by the sea (my favourite place in the world) and I currently live in Hampshire. I am married to Chris, have a cat named Buddy and I would love to be a writer. I’m trying to write the novel I’ve talked so much about writing if only I could stop pressing delete. I’ve loved writing since creative writing classes in primary school. I have always wanted to see my teacher Miss Sayers again and thank her for the encouragement. When not trying to write the novel or writing snippets of stories on anything I can get my hands on, I love reading, dancing like a loon and singing to myself very badly. My current obsession is Once Upon a Time and I would be happy to live with magic in the enchanted forest surrounded by all those wonderful stories provided that world also included Harry Potter. I love reading chick lit. contemporary fiction and novels with mystery.
