Competitions: August’s Blind Date With A Book

IMG_7335I hope everyone is enjoying their August. It’s time for this month’s Blind Date With A Book.

It is very easy to judge a book by its cover. I know I do it. The cover is the thing that initially catches our eye in the book shop. It can sometimes completely sell the book or make you walk by it without giving it a chance. Our competition is one with a twist. It’s your chance to win a blind date with a book.

I’m not going to reveal what the title of this month’s book is nor will I reveal the cover. All I will reveal is that the themes include ‘secrets, lies, murder mystery and betrayal.

How to enter:

Comment on this post with your name by the closing date of Tuesday 30th August 2016 at 23.59. A winner will be chosen at random from the entries and announced on the Novel Kicks blog on Wednesday 31st August 2016.

UK only. Winner will also be contacted via e-mail.

Good Luck.

I’m Laura. I started Novel Kicks in 2009. I wanted a place to post my writing as well as give other writers like me the opportunity to do the same. There is also a monthly book club, a writing room which features writing prompts, book reviews, competitions, author interviews and guest posts.

I grew up by the sea (my favourite place in the world) and I currently live in Hampshire. I am married to Chris, have a cat named Buddy and I would love to be a writer. I’m trying to write the novel I’ve talked so much about writing if only I could stop pressing delete. I’ve loved writing since creative writing classes in primary school. I have always wanted to see my teacher Miss Sayers again and thank her for the encouragement. When not trying to write the novel or writing snippets of stories on anything I can get my hands on, I love reading, dancing like a loon and singing to myself very badly. My current obsession is Once Upon a Time and I would be happy to live with magic in the enchanted forest surrounded by all those wonderful stories provided that world also included Harry Potter. I love reading chick lit. contemporary fiction and novels with mystery.

I won last month so pretty sure I won’t win this one but hey, in for a penny and all that jazz, thanks for my last book Laura, was lovely to read something completely new and not part of my usual genre of literature!

I’ve been reading a lot of Fantasy fiction recently, I think I could do with a good murder mystery! We did the blind date with a book thing at work, it was great fun but also really hard coming up with the ad for the books (^^)

I’ve only just found your website and I love it. I love the idea of this competition, sounds like I would really enjoy the book you describe. Thanks for the chance 🙂
