About the book:
How many lifetimes would you travel to find a love that lasts for ever?
When single career girl Jo-Jo steps onto a zebra crossing and gets hit by a car, she awakes to find herself in 1963. The fashion, the music, her job, even her romantic life: everything is different. And then it happens three more times, and Jo-Jo finds herself living a completely new life in the 1970s, 80s and 90s. The only people she can rely on are Harry and Ellie, two companions from 2013, and George, the owner of a second-hand record store. If she’s ever to return from her travels, Jo-Jo must work out why she’s jumping through time like this. And if she does make it back, will her old life ever be the same again?

I'm Laura. I started Novel Kicks back in 2009 as I wanted a place to discuss books and writing - two loves of my life. As someone who has anxiety, these two things give me, and I am sure countless others, a much needed escape.
There is a monthly book club, writing exercises, prompts, reviews, author interviews, competitions and guest posts. I cover many genres and I hope there is something for everyone.
I grew up by the sea in Dorset and currently live in Poole with my husband, Chris and three cats. I love writing and have a BA (Hons) in Creative Writing from Falmouth University. I am writing my first book. If only I could stop pressing delete. Chris has threatened to stop it from working. Haha.
I have always loved creative writing since I was in first school and would very much like to meet my teacher, Miss Sayers, to say thank you for all the encouragement she gave me then.
When not writing, I love reading, cats, Disney, singing (I can't sing but this doesn't stop me,) and falling into a good TV show or film. If I could step into any fictional world, it would be amongst the characters in ABC's Once Upon a Time.
I love reading many genres and discovering new authors.

Book Club
Gosh I couldn’t pick one era from 60s to 90s as there are so many good and bad reasons for them all but would be fun to visit like Jo-Jo. Must be easier way than being hit by car!!

I would go back to the 20s, everyone was celebrating the end of the war and it seemed like life was one long party!

What a vibrant front cover on this book. I live in the lovely city of Norwich. I was born in 1965, so I would like to be a *grown up* in that era! I would have an insight into how live was for my Mum & Dad and Gran & Granddad, all of whom I have sadly lost. Just maybe it would jolt some great memories……..

Also all those Brat Pack movies were the BOMB!!! ; St. Elmo’s Fire, Pretty in Pink etc…..

I’d love to go back to the 80s, mum and dad always rave about when they were my age- I want to see what all the fuss is about!! Plus great music in that era!! 🙂
I would love to go back to the Ice Age, I find it so fascinating and I’m intrigued by the differences by Neanderthal man and Cro Magnus.

Irene from Morecambe – would like to go back to my early 20’s in the 70’s but only if I could have the knowledge I have now – I would do things a whole lot different. Wouldn’t tolerate the abusive husband I had then!!!! I would give him back what I got – kicks, punches, abusive language, and tell all his ‘friends’ what a useless person he was!!!!
Life is just so good now – I now have a wonderful husband that I cherish every day!!!
This book sounds a little bit different.I’d love to go back to the seventies,that was my era so looking forward to reading this book to see what the author has done with the seventies.
Undoubtedly the late 60’s I was in my late teens then & had a perfect time. Started my first job so had a little bit of money to indulge on records & life was so good .
Oh back to the 50’s for me…grease the film has a lot to answer for, love the music back then & the clothes style !
Got to be the 60’s! (but I’d want to go back as a younger version of me 😉 ) Fab music and mini skirts, flower power and camper vans. Peace and Love! x
I’d love to go back to the 60’s – a very happy carefree childhood time when we had “freedom” unlike the children of today and the most outragous thing you could get up to was having your record playing to loud with the latest Beatles single …. happy days … 🙂
I think it would be the 60’s I was very young then and don’t remember much so would like to go back.
