I’m Laura. I started Novel Kicks in 2009. I wanted a place to post my writing as well as give other writers like me the opportunity to do the same. There is also a monthly book club, a writing room which features writing prompts, book reviews, competitions, author interviews and guest posts.

I grew up by the sea (my favourite place in the world) and I currently live in Hampshire. I am married to Chris, have a cat named Buddy and I would love to be a writer. I’m trying to write the novel I’ve talked so much about writing if only I could stop pressing delete. I’ve loved writing since creative writing classes in primary school. I have always wanted to see my teacher Miss Sayers again and thank her for the encouragement. When not trying to write the novel or writing snippets of stories on anything I can get my hands on, I love reading, dancing like a loon and singing to myself very badly. My current obsession is Once Upon a Time and I would be happy to live with magic in the enchanted forest surrounded by all those wonderful stories provided that world also included Harry Potter. I love reading chick lit. contemporary fiction and novels with mystery.

Everyone gets on my nerves during my commute to and from work! People blocking the ticket barriers by fumbling for their Oyster in their bag and not moving out of the way, others leaning against the poles in the tubes preventing fellow commuters from being able to grab onto it, people with huge backpacks/shoulder bags not taking them off, others to not move out of the way for the doors, I’m getting annoyed just thinking about it all…

I have 2 hygiene things that annoy me most, sniffing….use a tissue and then dispose of it. Then, people who use public toilets and just leave without washing hands…..yuk.

The thing that annoys me most is people who try to get on the bus before you’ve got off, I mean come on people! The Elderly are worse for it.

My biggest annoyance is my teenage son’s washing, he amasses a mountain in his bedroom before bringing it down to be washed, then moans at me cause I don’t do his washing!!!!!

Annoy’s me most! Are you ready for this? I drop my hubby off at the train station every morning. The drop off area is very poorly designed. So… every morning there is at least 1 inconsiderate driver holding everyone up. When the passenger gets out, they should wave, mouth I am sorry- we are all in this together- but sometimes… some people have obviously got out of the wrong side of the bed and are quite unnecessarily rude!

The thing that really gets on my nerves is when people park over 2 spaces in the car park!
