I'm Laura. I started Novel Kicks back in 2009 as I wanted a place to discuss books and writing - two loves of my life. As someone who has anxiety, these two things give me, and I am sure countless others, a much needed escape.
There is a monthly book club, writing exercises, prompts, reviews, author interviews, competitions and guest posts. I cover many genres and I hope there is something for everyone.
I grew up by the sea in Dorset and currently live in Poole with my husband, Chris and three cats. I love writing and have a BA (Hons) in Creative Writing from Falmouth University. I am writing my first book. If only I could stop pressing delete. Chris has threatened to stop it from working. Haha.
I have always loved creative writing since I was in first school and would very much like to meet my teacher, Miss Sayers, to say thank you for all the encouragement she gave me then.
When not writing, I love reading, cats, Disney, singing (I can't sing but this doesn't stop me,) and falling into a good TV show or film. If I could step into any fictional world, it would be amongst the characters in ABC's Once Upon a Time.
I love reading many genres and discovering new authors.

Hi, I am Henrik from Hungary. I would like to meet many people. For example Jensen Ackles, because he is a great and funny actor, and I also would like to meet J. R. Ward, I love her books, they are amazing. And of course Giovanna Fletcher too.
So first of all Giovanna springs to mind as the person I want to meet but as I have already had the pleasure if meeting her in the 6/5/13 at a mcfly concert I’m going to go down the list. Second would obviously be the man of Giovanna’s dreams and his fellow band mates as their music means so much to me.. It’s so relatable and they are simply amazing. Moving on would be Carrie Hope Fletcher, but again I had the absolute pleasure of meeting her at the same concert. So when I think of it really hard I think I would like to meet Rachel Berry from glee. Simply because she has been so consistent, no matter what she has followed her dream she didn’t let distracts get in way. Also she was put under so much peer pressure multiple times but never once fell for it and for that she is one person I’d love to meet 🙂 x

Hi there, I’m Sarah, and there’s a lot of celebrities that I’d love to meet, but one of them is Giovanna Fletcher. I’m not trying to be a kiss ass, but I’d love to be able meet her to ask for advice on how she wrote a book, for it’s one of my dreams to write a book and have it published. She’s someone I look up to because she’s also very humble and seems to be someone who girls can relate to.
Someone who I’d also love to meet (who’s dead, ugh)..is Sid Vicious because there seems to be so much mystery around him and with the technology now, there’d be a better chance of finding out if he did kill Nancy. I’m very much into crime dramas!
If I could choose any celebrity to meet I would actually choose Giovanna. I love her and also love Tom (husband) and Carrie (sister-in-law). Hello, My Internet nickname is Maxxie, I come from France, near Paris and I would love to meet many people. If I do not count unfortunately dead people and fictionals one (Hello Doctor, hello Emmett Brown,…), I think that I would like to meet Meryl Streep because she is one of the most magnificent and talented person on Earth. On another hand I want to meet James Bourne for ten years now. Because he made me discovered so many things, including my favorite music band, and find out who my real friends are. I’m soon 22 and I think that I’ll wouldn’t have been the girl I am today without him, which is actually pretty weird.

I think i would love to meet Jennifer Lawrence, i have been a fan of her movies since she first started and i love her attitude to fame, shes still down to earth, random & funny, the amount of embarrassing things other celebrities would dread, she embraces, Jen Law is defiantly who i would love to meet.
I would meet Avril Lavigne because her music has changed so much and I have looked up to her since I was 7 and now I’m nearly 15. Her music tells a story and can make anyone feel proud of how far she has came in her career. She is a role model to girls everywhere for being individual and trying to have fun despite what she goes through!!
This is very similar to the last comment, but I would love to meet Charlotte Bronte. I have read a lot about her, like The Life of Charlotte Bronte by Elizabeth Gaskell, and it would be amazing to meet her to see if she was how I imagined her. A modern-day celebrity I would love to meet (again, impossible to ever happen) would be Freddie Mercury because I love Queen and I just think that his attitude and songwriting inspired thousands of people for loads of different things. He always seemed so funny and down-to-earth on videos I’ve watched, and it would just have been amazing to meet such an inspirational person.
If I have to pick one celebrity I’d like to meet, it would have to be Jane Austen. I know I’d have to travel back in time in order to actually do that, but we’re just dreaming here, right? She’s my favourite author of all time, and her novels have inspired me in all kinds of ways. I’d love to talk to her about her views of the world and of love and romance in general. I think she’d have some great insights, and I would love to simply spend some time with a fabulous author like her!
